Wooden Claves
Wooden Claves for Hire
One of the most recognisable Latin American percussion instruments, claves are two sticks of hardwood (like dowel) generally rosewood, that are between 6 - 8" in length that are struck together using one hand shaped as a cup, providing the sound box and other as the strike. The claves have a distinctive sound that resonant through the loudest of ensembles.

Yamaha 5 octave Celeste
Yamaha 5 Octave Celeste for Hire
Range: F-F
Yamaha celesta's offer many advantages. First, because the metal sound plates are wider than the strings used in pianos, the plates are laid out on two different levels, which are in turn connected by rods. In other respects, however, the action is the same as on a grand piano. The instrument also offers a wide dynamic range, allowing for soft balanced chords, loud expressive play, trills, glissandos, and other play techniques that are typical of grand pianos but were never before available on celestas.
For some years now there has been a dispute between Schiedmayer and Yamaha over the exact construction of a celeste as Schiedmayer's view is that the Yamaha instrument is a glockenspiel with a grand piano action. Unsurprisingly Yamaha take a different view.Â
Secondly, the Yamaha celesta offers full piano-size keys. White keys have Ivorite surfaces and the damper pedal is aligned as a pianist would expect, slightly right of center.
Third, the remarkable presence of the instrument comes out of Yamaha's long experience in developing percussion instruments capable of asserting themselves within orchestral environments. The instrument uses high-carbon tempered steel plates tuned to high precision, as well as original maple resonance boxes designed to make effective use of Helmholtz resonance.
Lastly, the adjustment of action and hammers is essentially the same as on a grand piano. Any problems that occur just before a performance can be quickly corrected by a piano technician.
Yamaha celestas are well known for their excellent playability, and are actively used by the Vienna Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, the NHK Symphony Orchestra, and by many other orchestras throughout the world.

Yamaha CP300 Stage Piano
Yamaha CP300 Stage Piano for Hire
The Yamaha CP300 gives the modern pianist all the sound and expressiveness of a professionally mic'd grand piano with the portability and versatility of a digital instrument. The sound is big enough to permeate a full onstage band yet subtle enough to work in an intimate gig setting. Yamaha have a wealth of experience in creating digital pianos that sound and feel like premium acoustic models. The CP300 boasts Graded Hammer Effect (GHE) action keys which gives you an authentic resistance when playing. This increases from the top register to the lower just like a natural acoustic. This greatly enhances your playing and builds transferable skills and you become accustomed to the feel of pounding out lower notes and chords whilst your right hand dances across the sparkling highs.
Carefully recorded stereo samples on premium quality instruments are used to craft the sound of the CP300. They will be taken at various playing strengths and include subtle elements like String Resonance, Stereo Sustain and Key-Off. This provides one of the most authentic sounding and expressive piano voices possible. The CP300 also has a special Mono Piano sound bolstered by a compression effect which has been designed especially for live performances. It has the power to stand out even in a full band situation.
The CP300 also features the same pedal controls as an actual grand piano. Sustain, Soft and Sostenuto jacks are all available along with a fourth pedal input for controlling other sound settings. On certain piano effects sustain can be partially applied reproducing the half damper effect achieved on an acoustic instrument.
The CP300 can be used to play and control external tone generators. Assign different voices to different sections and create multi textured layers of sound. The CP300's four instrument zones with panel sliders allow you to easily tweak the level of each instrument. Also freely assign sliders and wheels to control other sonic characteristics of your gear giving you complete control of your individual sound.
Other handy little features like the locking function show the CP300 really has been designed with practical use in mind. Once you have all your settings the last thing you want is for someone to nudge a switch or press a button and give you a surprise in the middle of a performance! The Panel Lock button prevents this from happening. the professional quality balanced XLR outputs give you clean, clear and noise-free signal both for recording and live playing - where long unbalanced cables can compromise your sound. The CP300's built in stereo system on the CP300 means you can hear the sound of the keyboard without the need for a separate monitor. If you're performing on stage with a sound guy a simple Speaker On/Off panel button lets you disable it.

Yamaha Motif XF7 76 Keyboard
Yamaha Motif XF7 76 Keyboard to Hire
The Motif XF has twice the amount of wave memory built in than the XS, including stunning new pianos, orchestral sounds and synth waveforms. The affordable Flash ROM expansions let you add up to 2GB of non-volatile memory - finally, your custom sounds will always be stored without having to reload each time. With the full 2GB installed along with the preset ROM and inbuilt RAM, there's nearly a potential 3GB(!) of Waveforms to make sounds from. Optional FireWire audio interface: Anyone who uses mLAN will know it's hugely powerful but also hugely complex. The new FW16e expansion for Motif XF takes the best multi-channel feature of mLAN but makes it peer-to-peer - resulting in a straightforward setup on Windows and OSX
